ACCOUNTABILITY

The Laundry Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining a steady supply of clean and fresh linens, towels, and other textiles for our guests. As a Laundry Attendant, you are responsible for efficiently processing and laundering all hotel linens to ensure a comfortable and pleasant guest experience. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness contribute significantly to overall guest satisfaction. 

REPORTS TO AND IS SERVED BY: Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor

WHAT TO EXPECT

Linen and Towel Maintenance: Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and towels for use in guest rooms and other hotel areas. Ensure that all items meet quality standards. 

Machine Operation: Operate laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, and ironing machines. Perform routine maintenance on machines and report any malfunctions. 

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of all linens and towels. Notify the supervisor when inventory levels are low to ensure timely restocking. 

Quality Control: Inspect linens and towels for stains, damage, or wear. Remove items that do not meet quality standards and report any issues to the supervisor. 

Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety guidelines when using laundry equipment and chemicals. Keep the laundry area clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. 

Lost and Found: Report and document any items left in guest laundry to the supervisor to comply with lost and found policies. 

Teamwork: Collaborate with other hotel staff, especially housekeeping, to ensure a seamless flow of clean linens and towels to meet guest needs. 

Foundational Skills and Qualities: Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and prioritize work. Good physical stamina and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  

Work Expectations and Responsibilities: Willingness to adapt to a variety of tasks, including "Other duties as assigned." Participate in department meetings and maintain an open line of communication with colleagues. Obtain any required certifications necessary, as relevant to the specific job.

HARD SKILLS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Previous experience in laundry or cleaning roles is preferred but not mandatory. 

Familiarity with laundry equipment and processes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35+ lbs.  Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions. 

TRAVEL: N/A 

POSITION: On-site work at the hotel property.
